Unity in diversity in Kabuliwala by Rabindranath Tagore    Unity in diversity means unity among those people who are different, culturally, socially and religiously. People living in India are from various religions, casts and beliefs, however they are living in unity and providing the fact that unity in diversity.  In short story Kabuliwala Tagore presents the characters who are from different culture, religion and country. Tagore attempts to depict the concept of unity in diversity. Narrator's daughter Mini says to him " Dad our sentry Ramdayal doesn't even know  how to pronounce the word crow. He is so backward." His father says, "before I could enlighten her on the differences between languages" It shows  though Mini is just a child, she curbs the unity in diversity. Mini's parents are worried about the ''tall shabbily clothed Afghan " because he is not from their country and religion. They aren't accepting the concept of unity in d...

Rampant Radicalization

Rampant Radicalization    Pakistan can't eradicate the rampant extremism until and unless the regressive ideologies are rooted out.Recently,a proposal was presented  in the upper house where intelligence agencies were asked to collect the data of students, a step towards identifying and curbing  the extremit groups in institutions.     Authorities need to understand that this curse can never be countered sans ideological battle that includes:overhauling the orthodox curriculum.Abolishing the rigid and authoritative teaching methodologies, encouraging free thinking in the students sans any biased approach. The radicalisation,if not controlled, would tear the state asunder. Repressive state apparatus is being used to counter terrorism and exterimism which has been entrenched in the minds. How can the disease be cured which is yet to be diagnosed?    Radicalisation will continue to haunt the lives of upcoming generations until and unless a counter te...

The so Called Revolution

(The Pakistani version of revolution) Demagogues will continue their demagoguery until and unless the nation  asks them why don't your own children need these revolutions, changes and Islam. They are humiliating the sacredness and highness which is attributed to revolution. The Pakistani version of revolution needs to be added in oxford dictionary which would mean;to fool the masses in order to rule over them.  How would a person revolutionise the nation when he himself doesn't think this land worth living. On the one hand politicians enjoy the privileges of dual nationlities in developd countries like Canada and UK,on the other hand they claim for change and revolution.Had they been so sincere and honest, they would have changed the system. Why would one change the system or at least try for its betterment when he himself enjoys all the  facilities and privileges abroad. Why would one enlighten the nation by introducing the revolutionary steps in education sector when his o...

Menace Of self Righteousness

The menace of self righteousness is eroding the mutuality and tolerance of  already weakened and divided Pakistani society. We have to face this destructive attitude in every walk of life.Religion and politics are important to mention as they are directly linked with every individual.A self righteous individual is a severe threat to the peace of any society.Be it conservative, liberal or secular society. Shakespeare's delineation of Antonio as  self righteous and sanctimonious  person(through one perspective )who spits upon Shylock, calls him misbeliever and cut throat dog, shows the harms that self righteous men do.   Those societies where weaknesses(sins, evils and vices)of 'others'are magnified, are destined to destroy themselves.  It is better to be a humble sinner than a self righteous saint. Definition of Sensitivity

Sensitivity erodes the joyfullness of life.Happiness can't be touched sans certain sleep of mind .More often than not,People in possession of sensitivity lose the cheerfulness and blithesomeness of life, even when it's knocking at their door.😊 Abdul Muqset Awan

Fog

It was pretty foggy outside,I contemplated, i interpreted,I related; life is but a foggy path with innumerable twists and turns.Thou needeth a ''searchlight'' to overcome the the 'fogginess' Abdul Muqset Awan

New Year Message

Instead of posting the lofty words here,i would like to write few words on the occasion of new year celebrations. Let's try our best to curb all the dark elements prevailing in our land.Let's promote diversity and free thinking.Let's try to resurrect the book reading habit.Lets try to promote tolerance, peace and love among different segments of the society.Lets build an extremism-free Pakistan where the rights of minorities must be protected.Lets try to convert the social media into a more productive and peace spreading platform where foul language for dissenting voices must be avoided.LET'S try to travel the road that has not been chosen before, and it will make all the difference; it will lead us to a heavenly place. Non Conformist

"Assent–and you're sane– Demur–you're straightway dangerous–and handled with a Chain–" Emily Dickinson Raising voice for the oppressed classes, condemning dictatorship and it's evils and fighting for the rights of non-muslim minorities wasn't an easy task in the rigid and self-righteous society. Rip Aasma jahangir. Ps This post isn't for the sake of unnecessary debates, screenshot comments and all the absurd stuff I have been observing since her departure.

Tradition

It has become a tradition to criticise politicians; disgracing and humiliating them with the most inappropriate, unethical and abusive labels. It's fine, every individual is free to express and share what he experiences and feels, but why don't they criticise those who had been equally sharing the throne with politicians? Why don't they fulminate those who abrogated the constitution and torn us asunder through fanaticism? The best way,for a nation, to flourish is to break the fragile wall of illusions and realistically realise the weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Without Diagnosing disease how could one be cured? For those who shrug and believe it was only the past that should be burried now; Eugene O'Neill writes, "Past is present, isn't it? It's future too". Past will continue to haunt the present untill and unless the policy makers choose the road that has not been taken before( overhauling of old and outdated policies).

vote

You manage to grab a seat, vote is sacred, will of the people prevails. It's the other way round, parliament is cursed and fulminated. Verbally you're right, practically you aren't. Actions— utmost struggle  to sit on the top of this cursed system—are what that make a difference. A politician, in most of the cases, is judged by the actions; Honour the parliament or else you'll be squeezed yet again.

Hardware and Software

Hardware can't be criticised. Its the software that is wholly solely responsible for the damage. Software alone can't be blamed. It takes time to get the better and improved version. It needs experiences and failures. Failures can't be fruitful if we are reluctant to learn. What about the viruses? Their untimely and unjustified invasion destructs and corrupts the software. Software's only concern becomes survival. Survival, sometimes, results in confusion and worries. Confusion leads to confusion. Time ends. Things don't change as per expectations. Now who's to be blamed –hardware, software or viruses ? Who's responsible for dragging software to backfoot or defensive mode? I am not discussing  state, political administration and the umpire.😉😀
All those who were passing absurd comments ,targeting  particular school of thought. They were fulminating them without any reason. Listen! the same enlightened of school of thought raised voice againtst the killing of innocent flowers in Afghanistan. They raised voice against all the odds butchering humanity in Yemen and Syria under the cover of religious sects. They also raise voice against the killing of minorities in Pakistan. Unlike you, they don't protect one side and attack other. They love humanity.
Pashtoons have been exploited and devastated since long time in the name of manliness, masculinity and illusory titles of warrior and weaponised nation. These labels have contributed in reinforcing the negative perceptions about them. The recent Islamabad sit-in is a great Devolpement which can help them to get their true identity and recognition. Brief analysis by Abdul Muqset
If a man with such severe, fatal and serious physical disabilities can achieve such remarkable and extraordinary feat, then why do we remain hopeless and desperate? He was a gem of a person, who fought with death so bravely and courageously that can be imagined only. As per Delphi's oracle from ancient Greece , physical impairments are compensated with supernatural gifts. Whatever may be the case, it requires the sheer determination, will power and mental strength to defeat the deathly disease and shine like a glittering star on the horizon of physics. Stephen Hawking ! you will be remembered, you'll be missed and honoured forever for your services to humanity. Persistence, Unyeilding will power and Courage can be personified as Stephen Hawking. Rest in eternal Peace; dweller of the Mysterious World.

Rigid Society

Rigid society produces rigid mindset. Masses really need to understand, being citizens of Pakistan, they have some serious responsiblities and obligations besides bashing , trashing, rediculing and abusing MALALA. It looks so ironical when firstly you treat people in such uncivilized and outrageous manner; then weep, cry, mourn and utilise your only weapon–the faculty of labelling.Don't behave like wild beast when your this particular side is exposed before the world. There are proper and civilised ways to air your grievances like conducting debates, discussions at various platforms among diverse ideolgies. It requires the sheer amount of tolerance, acceptance and flexible mindset. The way you do the things is not the only way to do them.Respect other people's thinking and opinion.

Confusion

It pinches ,hurts demotivates and lets me down when formally educated individuals perplex themselves with basic concepts of feminism and liberalism. Any thinking individual, when raises voice against all kinds of opression, repression and cruelties– Men's opression againts women, mob of fanatics lynching a student, a student proudly murdering principal, woman suffering because of an egoist and supreme male and the catalogue goes on–he is called a desi liberal or feminist, usually in a sarcastic tone. I have seen people calling liberalism something anti-religious. I have observed a few decent individuals ridiculing and sarcasting people for such humanistic views.Liberal isn't an anti-religious person, literally speaking, he is the one who believes in religious and economic freedom for all the portions of society. Feminist isn't the person who demands equality for the womenfolk by all means. He wants woman to be protected from gender biased approach, he wants them to be educated ...

My Poem

INCULPABLE SOULS. A seemingly jubiliant April morning Mothers–innocent flowers all smiling. apparently, universe seems in order and peace For the Lilacs, blooming–allowing despair to cease. They left the threshold– all over happiness Ah! but who knows permitting forever–despair and darkness. Affection, Love, Joy drenched in tears–eagerly waiting Unbearable wait–wait compels –sits at the door praying. from nowhere bloodthirsty wolves erupted All the dreams to kiss, touch, embrace –shattered, devastated For how long in your bloody game Humanity will face the humiliating shame.
